Competency model for theatre acting profession

My thesis discusses competencies necessary for the profession of a stage actor and requirements and demands on such professionals. The aim of my thesis is creation of generic competency model of the profession of a stage actor, which could be useful to drama oriented theatre organizations in the Czech Republic. The thesis approaches the topic of competencies and competency approach in human resources and focuses on selected acting theories. On such theoretical foundations the competencies are identified through expert panel method and the generic competency model of acting profession is assembled. Václav Voska's theatre, film and television acting in Czech artistic and social context in the second half of twentieth century

SUMMARY: This thesis focuses on theatre, film and television acting of one of the important representatives of Czech dramatic art in Czech artistic and social context in the second half of the twentieth century. The aim of this work is to depict means of expression used by Vaclav Voska in his roles. It provides summary of actor's theatrical work and in the part dedicated to his TV acting tries to comprehensively describe compering television series "We invite you to the theatre". The following part is dedicated to film acting, especially to his cooperation with the Film Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. The work neither neglects his teaching at the Faculty of Performing Arts Theatre nor his political career. The essential part of this thesis is focuses on his role of Emile Magis in Félicien Marceau's game The Egg. The work purposely omits on Vaclav Voska's production of spoken word (radio, Poetic Cafe Viola, Lyra Pragensis) and it refers only to his major achievements only if they are relevant for analyzed topics. Complete list of theatre and film production is given at the end of his work. The TV list is only a selection with regard to the factual ambiguity at the beginning of the functioning of the medium. Conscious management of expressivity

Thesis deals with conscious management of expressivity on stage. Firstly the author of the thesis name basic issues related to psychical and physical tension during performance, secondly the author defines basic terminology related to tention and jitter. The core of this work is application of knowledge acquired during studies at DAMU, during first experiences of performances in front of audience during studies and also acquired from first experiences from professional environment of theatre and film. The author also analyzes her personal themes related to her own personality as possible obstacles in order to do acting profession.

Problematics of Fixation in Acting

In the first chapter of my master's thesis I think about acting, resp. the problem of fixation in the actor's work as an anchor in the given circumstances of a stage act, in dialogue with my ideas of acting and the philosophical concept of the life of a creature, inclining towards the ideas of Martin Heidegger and outline of his "Dasein". In the second chapter, I focus on my personal experience of both studies and professional practice in the context of chapter one considerations.

Authenticity and veracity of actors´s utterance

The master theses is concerned with the authenticity and veracity of actors’s utterance during the creation of characters from different genres. In the first part, the author relies on selected technical literature, through which we get acquainted with the ways actors can theoretically achieve the authenticity and veracity of their utterance using different well-known approaches to create the character. In the second part the theoretical knowledge is confronted with the author’s personal experience as a starting actor. The absolvent productions are used to demonstrate the author’s search for authenticity and veracity in different productions and genres during his work on the characters he embodied in the Disk theatre in the final year of his studies.

Divadlem k vývoji - vývojem k divadlu

Reflektujeme význam neutrality zkoumáním práce s neutrální maskou jakožto nástroje k docílení utišení výrazu obličeje, čímž se stimuluje fyzické povědomí vnitřního neutrálního centra. Povědomí o těle a fyzická vnímavost vyvíjí základní výhody a vlastnosti pro kreativní vývoj a ve výcviku herce, a také v Gestalt terapii. Soustředení se na předpokládanou neutralitu, kterou se myslí centrální referenční bod, umožňuje exploraci neznámých oblastí osobnosti a charakteru, což se může využít při vývoji nových hereckých rolí a také v řešení osobních konfliktů. Vlastní zkušenosti s představeními s maskami, a s maskami použivanými v terapii se porovnávají s teoretickým pozadím práce s maskou a filozofickými nápady o neutralitě. Předpoklad je ten, že v nicotě je pojmuto všechno. Žádný stres.

Pohyb a kreativita

Tématem této magistrské práce je průzkum metod a principů pohybové výchovy, která je vyučována na Katedře Autorské tvorby a Pedagogiky (KATaP). Magisterské studium Herectví se zaměřením na autorskou tvorbu a pedagogiku začalo být vyučováno na DAMU v roce 2015. V průběhu dvou let jsou pohybové kurzy vyučovány třemi profesory. Všichni tři mají odlišné pojetí výuky, avšak usilují o společný cíl – aby studenti získali větší povědomí o svým těle a dosáhli lepší kontroly nad každodenními pohybovými návyky, stejnak tak i o pohybu na jevišti. Přestože je program navržen jako obdoba česky vyučovaného programu, různorodost kultury a temperamentu studentů přispěla k určitým obměnám, což představuje velkou příležitost, jakým směrem se obor na katedře vyvíjí.
Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních kapitol, které se zabývají: držením těl, prostorem a představivostí. Každá kapitola zahrnuje popis cvičení, jež bylo součástí kurzu pohybu na KATaPu a které se vztahuje k danému tématu. Zdrojem popisu cvičení, stejně tak úvah a změn, které jsem pociťovala v průběhu a po cvičení, jsou převzaty z mých poznámek a ze semestrálních poznatků. Každá kapitola je podložena publikovanou teorií, jež dodává pohybovým kurzům teoretický základ. Poslední kapitola je věnována průzkumu vztahu mezi představivostí a pohybem a jak tento vztah ovlivňuje hercovu kreativitu.
Hlavním motivem pro vznik diplomové práce je můj vděk za transformaci, kterou si mé tělo prošlo během studia na KATaPu. To je důvod, proč se domnívám, že obsah výuky mého oboru je obohacující jednak pro teoretiky, učitele nebo jiné odborníky ve světě múzických umění, stejně tak jako pro lidi, kteří mají jen zájem dozvědět se něco jiného o svém těle.
